Subject: RE: Grain cart floater tires

We put 900 michelins on out Brent 774 in 2009 as replacements for the 330.5 bias ply. Where the 30.5s left 6" deep ruts the 900s will leave lug marks. That fall right before we put the 900s on there were times wit one combine hopper on the cart it would start pulling hard and when I looked back it was dragging the axle on the fly round and both tires we had stopped turning, with the 900s in those conditions the 900s will leave 4-6" deep tracks but the tires keep turning. If I remember right the flat plate surface area of the 900 is almost 50% more than 30.5s. Also being radials the 900s ride much nicer in the field. Our's are on the stock rims but we did have to slide the axle out a few inches on each side.
