Leesburg, Ohio | We had the same conditions last fall. Straight-line winds knocked it down before tassle, goosenecked up in the next few days. Then before harvest wind knocked it over again in the opposite direction. Talk about a tangled mess. Was not looking forward to harvesting that mess. And somehow I got the job, instead of my son who normally runs the combine now.
The row sense worked almost perfectly! I could not see where the rows were most of the time, but row sense kept me on track. All I had to do was get it started at the ends. A few times had to back up and move over, but not very often.
Header height control worked fine. Row sense never "bumped me off".
We do run RTK, so that might make a difference, but we also run SF1 on the sprayer, and can auto-track post spraying corn between rows with only an occasional nudge, so I can't see that being an issue here.
