You are correct. Do we deserve a floor under every bushel? I'm not so sure about that. That kind of thinking has a certain socialist ring to it. I know you aren't hoping for $2 corn. I don't know how any sane farmer could. It sounded like you want the LDP system with higher loan rates? Yes, insurance only covers you on bushels up to your APH and does not guarantee a floor under bushels. I kind of think that was the intention of the insurance program when it started. It gives you something to fall back on and hopefully saves the farm in the event of a disaster. It wasn't supposed to guarantee a profit.
