SE Iowa | I think rr1 to rr2 yield bump was minimal but pr campaign (5 bean pod) was bumper crop. We farmers are very gullible. Every year new bean comes out and is 1-2 bu better. If the beans I grew in 1977 went 56 bu/acre and I planted the "NEW" bean every year with 1 bu/acre increase I would be at 93 bu/acre avg. NOT! Put the disease packages and cyst in Williams 82 and you have todays beans plus maybe 5-6 bu/acre. Remember what we planted with and how we planted 37 years ago compared to today before you can disagree. | |
