It's only anecdotal, but we had good beans with great corn in cool/wet 2004.  Had AWESOME beans with ho-hum corn in 2005, with tons of heat/sunshine but late-season rains pushed up by hurricane.  I think my personal bean crop looks awfully good right now, but many of us have cut a lot of ugly beans that yielded surprisingly well, and a lot of pretty beans that were not very stellar on the scales.  I'd have requested more sunshine and heat with the moisture in the last 30 days to really make rockstar beans, here.
