When FSA releases their planting data http://www.fsa.usda.gov/FSA/webapp?area=newsroom&subject=landing&to... they have separate tallies for planted/failed acreage and for prevented plantings. Also a good example on this PP issue is 2013 North Dakota corn acreage. Last year USDA had them at 3850k planted and 3600k harvested while 560k were prevented planted. So they separate out PP from planted/harvested acreage.
