Subject: RE: IL corn acre predictions are problematic

S Illinois
Illinois had 70k acres come out of CRP. 125K from wheat and 300k from prevented planted acreage last year gets a person close to the 650 acre corn/bean acre increase. As to location of those corn acres vs. bean acres, one place that cannot be overlooked is the high flood prone acres. This year and 2012 are the only years out of the last 10 that the extreme flood prone acres in this area have not been taken multiple times and have actually been given a chance to produce corn whereas many times they are just put into beans or prevented planted.
