| My wife and I have been thinking about purchasing a 30ac tract of land in Kentucky. We currently live/work out of state and have plans to return to there in the next 2-3yrs. There is about 15ac tillable, which is currently in row crop. I would like to purchase it now, continue to rent it and when we move back, we plan to build a house on it and make it our homeplace and move some cattle to it. My question is, what do you think the best way to rent this out is to make maximum return? Cash rent? Custom farm? It is currently being cash rented for well under value. Thoughts? | |
