I like to start at about 22-23% and be finished by the time it is 18%. The header loss alone will pay for some of the drying. Also it seems like corn around here just doesnt stand till novenmber or december. On top of that, it is much easier to dry corn in september when it is still 75-80 degrees than when it is 50. A good corn crop can be a lot of work. Saw some corn down from a storm the other night that isnt even black layered yet.
