West of Broken Bow | To say goodbye to a pet that is also a loyal companion. Just had to go with a family member tonight,who manages a clinic, to put down a little doggie. I held the little thing in my lap as we made the trip. Her liver was failing and the blood work confirmed it. Took some xrays and they showed abnormalities in the stomach area.
I know my family member is used to putting so many animals down, but even she couldn't hold back the tears. When those big brown, trusting eyes (the dog's) are looking at you and know something serious is going on, it makes it that much harder to do what needs to be done. I told her goodbye and hugged the lil pup. She weighed about ten pounds.
The other lil dog will surely grieve over her buddy being gone.
This makes two dogs in two months.
