Missouri | Can't figure out how to edit text into the pics, but...
- The ugly bunch.
& 3 - A bred heifer that came out of a starving red angus herd in Ok. She was very hungry and very short framed as a bred but has grown out nicely after a year of good grass.
& 5 - A cow that was "open" when they run her through the barn. That's her "open" sneaking in behind her. Even the Bull coming to her in the next pic was someone's discounted "left over".
- The cheap red trio.
- Came with the "open" red cow with a bad eye. Still can't figure out how she raises her calf with that cloud in the way.
- Can't lie, the roan on the right was a very high dollar show heifer back in her day. She's has to be 18 or 19 years old. Yes, that "fluffy" cow is close to 20! The roan on her left is her daughter and the roan on her right is her grand daughter.
& 10 - Heifers we couldn't talk ourself into loading out. The roan is the great something daughter of the "fluffy" cow. The red white face is out of the "blind" sale barn cow.
- The past few years drought bound this pasture up on water a bit so we fixed an old pond that had the damn cut on it years ago. No one knows how long ago it was cut, but the best guess is the mid 1960's. ~8 foot so far and still waiting on more rain but the rag weeds around it are about to drive me nuts. Really need to get some seed on it and a fence up before winter creeps in.
Grampa always said a good eye was worth more than a good dollar, go get'em.
