Older generation always wore sleeveless T shirts under dress shirts at church. Younger generation called them muscle shirts. Agree big brimmed straw hat is much cooler that regular seed corn caps.

For some reason the "muscle shirt sleeveless T's" are called a "wife beater shirt" around here by many younger than I am.. Not sure why but it is a stupid name "IMHO"
Oh.. T shirts are good when its cold(makes more layers of insulation) and I prefer a T shirt and nothing over it when its hot out. Normally never wear a T shirt for the most part.



The name comes from, Most of the guys that are arrested for beating up their wife/gf/woman are wearing the type of t shirt that you describe. Watch an episode of Cops. You will see.
