Subject: RE: What kind of hay rake?

Driftless SW Wisconsin

I am not familiar with other rakes but am very pleased with my NH ProCart. It works very well even in short grasses.  Seemed reasonably priced. Covers a lot of ground and seems to get almost everything.

However behind a tedder, make sure you order the optional center wheel kit, especially in alfalfa.  If combining windrows there is nothing in the canter.

Behind a tedder the hay is out full width.  I felt I needed something to turn the alfalfa in the center. I just installed the center wheel kit on my ProCart and looking forward to trying it on my last cutting if it ever stops with these rain showers every day.

Here's a picture of it in tedded hay without the center wheel. This hay had a light rain on it while tedded out so I tedded it again. Turned out pretty well.
