Hello Supa Dexta

Agree with Beefbiz, except on the protein pellets. You didn't say what's in your baleage. Alfalfa??? There's your source of protein for your ration right there (I like to grow my own energy & protein on my farm & purchase only what I can't grow). Don't waste $ on protein supplements that can be made up mainly of urea for small calves. They can not utilize it & will just pee it on the ground. Get you feed company to put the monensin in their mineral, you're going to be feeding it anyways. Start them calves on oats, then go to barley. It's questionable whether it pays to process oats for small calves, it can be fed whole, but definitely process the barley as there is a 16% gain over feeding it whole.
