We rarely pick anything over 17 percent moisture so the plant itself is mostly dead. You have to keep head speed up somewhat to get good chopping action but the choppers do turn the stalks into confetti like advertised. They are pricey no doubt. I feel there is no camparison between calmer choppers and oem Deere 90 series knife rolls.
