I would guess another 5-10 inches through Nd and Mn and harvest will be a challenge until the ground freezes. Some of the ugliest fields I have ever seen in my life are the ones in the RRV after harvest in a wet fall. Some times these fields are pp the next spring due to the 18" ruts that are a half mile lOng and every 30' across the field. It generally does not affect the price of grain but it defeninatly affects attitudes And the pocket book. 2 out of the last 3 years I have harvested sb during deer season. Let me tell you that sucks! Mid October is kinda the typical time frame for wrapping up beans. As I type this it is raining and supposed to be a wet 10 day forecast.
Just heard today that oats and wheat are sprouting in the area. The small grain harvest is starting to get late and it is very wet. Maybe this year I will harvest my wheat during deer season.

Have a happy and safe harvest.
