southern MN | Its a tough deal.
I understand telling people to go to cars if a storm is approaching is the only possible thing they can do in that position.
Calling the whole day off at 8:30 after many pay already to get in is a rough deal, would hurt attendance in future years.
Different to call out a storm delay, from canceling the day.
I'm sure attendance had to be pretty low, and vendors would want to pack up and go home why waste a day in the mud with low attendance.
Lot of issues, just rough to deal with a rough wet 3 day outdoor event.
I remember Mudfest, the 1976 Farmfest here in southern MN, was an all day soaker in the clay fields of southern Minnesota, the parking grounds were on the far side of the Fest through the grounds back then, everyone had to drive a long skinny field road. That held up for 10 cars....... Took a long time for Farmfest to recover from that year.....
It's just ugly form all points of view.
