Last year I broadcast wheat and fertilizer mixed together. This spring the stand was so uneven that I ended up burning it down and planted corn. I even applied 1/2 rate and split my rows. The only way is to drill it in. Seen a person here in WC Wis. notil wheat in standing corn stalks last year (Mid Oct) and have a beautiful stand this spring. Wheat was no more then 1 inch high before the frost.
