Beresford, SD
Back in 1996 I finished 120 head with buckets running out on grass. LOTS OF BUCKETS!!!!!!!! Then I bought my first feedwagon...Kelly Ryan 4x10...no scale...leveled every scoop of feed with a shovel when dumped in wagon. I still think I made the most $$$$ per head finishing those heifers on grass and paling their daily amount of corn to them. I will never forget......525# heifers bought in april (Mitchell sale barn) for 55 cents a pound ran and finished them out in the pasture....corn was $5.00 (bought every bushel) Sold them for $72/cwt to Monfort. Was my first turn of cattle and it was a good one!!!! All done with pails...........all the old boys at the elevator thought I was nuts pulling gravity wagons with my pickup to get filled with rolled corn and pellets..........HEHEHEHEE!
