Central Illinois

Might check your owner's manual (or see if there's a sticker next to the clutch pedal.

IIRC

The engine is supposed to be running , don't remember if it says full throttle or fast idle, but is sounded strange to me.

Edit: With the transmission in PARK and the engine running at 1900 RPM, measure the distance the clutch pedal travels before it begins to disengage the clutch. The clutch pedal free travel should be 1.5 inches.

If the free travel is less than 3/4 inch, tilt the battery outward and loosen the clutch pedal adjusting screw (I would call it a bolt, but they call it a screw.) If nessessary, remove the cotter pin and loosen the large slotted nut (located at bottom of pedal arm, or pivit point). With the transmission in PARK and the engine running at 1900 RPM, adjust the pedal travel to 1.5 inches. Tighten the adjusting screw and large slotted nut Recheck the pedal travel to make sure it is correct. Install a new cotter pin, and secure battery.
