| year's ago, our local music dept went from having a "please buy this" type of fund raiser to "Just Donate" type of fund raiser.. The kids canvas the towns and countryside within our district asking people for donations. 100% of the donations go to the music boosters club and has been used to buy supplies for the music dept from music stands, chairs, new instruments and helps pay for the music trip that is every 4 years.
People are more will to donate cash to the organization than if they have to buy something. On average our school district (and we are not nig district) has pulled in over $10K the last 3-4 yrs. otherwise the average is around $9k.
