For any of you fellas from the northern parts of the States I would recommend visiting in our winter/ spring (April-Nov) as the temps in general will appeal to you and the tropical north of Australia can easily be travelled in these months.

Summer(your winter) can be brutal(not everywhere) but manageable if you plan well and would I imagine fit a Northern Hemisphere farmers' downtime better.
