NW Washington | Steel homes were tried back in the 1940's and these Lustron homes were a pre-made kit that was assembled on site.

That said, my brother lives in a steel house. He has been a welder most of his life and he always wanted a steel house, and now he has one. Basically a small metal building which he insulated and put in-floor heating in. But he is a bachelor now and I doubt that many women would approve of his quarters. | |
