Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | There are companies, that factory build the floor w/subfloor, walls w/sheathing and tyvek and rafters(gable end are sheathed, too), then stacked(in proper order) and ship on a truck, have crane on site; then install. A neighbor did one, this Summer. Once basement and concrete floor were done, truck showed up: 1st day, whole 1st floor was set and all walls and 5 rafters (3 bedroom single story ranch style house= simple plan) 2nd day; finished all rafters, installed all roof sheathing and tar paper, and started on shingles. 3rd day; finished shingles and got windows in. 4th day; got doors installed, and started on siding This was next to a busy highway; owner had to shutoff his cell phone, at work, because so many people were calling him, because they were amused how fast that house went up. I only mention this, because is doesn't have to be a metal building, to get an outer house shell, built quickly. Depends on design, scheduling, and manufacturer; and Weather, too. |
