Neighbor has a new standing seam machine (Amish), no screws visible, also the steel is 26 gauge which about 25% stronger than 29 gauge pole barn steel. Don't know how far away you are, but he may be interested. Brings the machine right to the job site and crew to put it on.
The building in question is in the UP. Potential for a lot of snow.
I'd really like to go with pole barn steel, but the building has a lot of valley's. Can be tough to keep snow from ripping the valley's up when it moves as the seams can't be hemmed shut.
I have had prices from a couple of places on standing seam, but both have been 24 ga. Just not a big fan of standing seam on a house. Maybe wouldn't even notice it in a year or so. |
