New London, Wisconsin | I fell into a similar pattern early in my marriage. I was the local BTO for about 15 years and loved it, I thought. Then with my wife's help I started to see, mostly through pictures, all the stuff I had missed with my family.
I knew that in spite of the pressures to get bigger, I would be more profitable and have more time if I farmed less. After a few years of testing that theory I very slowly and gradually went to less than half my former acres. I now make more profit, have more time to fly, hunt, and go boating and have a happier family.
In a way, congratulations are in order because you learned the lesson before it was too late.
Congrats to your wife too for being willing to work this out. That is no small deal.
