Almost every trade we've made was to get a bigger machine.
Every 2 years for us. Keeps it under 1,000 hours and in full warranty. Anything over 1,000 hours for us means a total rebuild. Dirty beans and rice just eats them alive here.
An old combine here is a 2388 or 9760. Not many of them still left in the area. Walker machines are long gone and I haven't seen a 1480 in years. The last 2188 left the area about 5 years ago. We kept a 2006 model machine for 5 seasons and it got quite costly towards the end. Been trading every 2 years since and don't see that changing.
