Illinois | Agree 100%. There is no blatantly correct answer. I am sure there are specific situations where one guy has run a machine many years and hours and had it be a much cheaper alternative than regular trading, and I am sure the opposite is also true.
I have tried it both ways, and in my situation, the cost differential isn't much between the 2 options, so I have elected to trade annually. I figure I might as well have a newer machine each year if it costs me about the same as keeping an older one. It gets to the point also where no matter how much off season repair is done, reliability in season can still be a problem on something with a lot of hours. That downtime can be costly. | |
