zkeele - 8/7/2014 13:12 Lock 27 is at St. Louis. The greater problem is the flood control TVA dams taking the silt out of the river. In my mind the dams are worth the disturbance they cause to the Gulf. Cheap electricity, No Malaria, recreation and tourism on the lakes, etc.

Is lock 27 above or below where the Missouri dumps into the Mississippi?

The electricity provided by the TVA dams are worth many many many many times any disturbance they create.
