For pasture:

If subdivided into at least 4 different pastures, fertilized, limited trees, good grass, and keep them off of it in the winter /early spring = 1.5 acres per pair

If continuously grazed, not fertilized, and run it all winter = 3 acres / pair

Winter Hay (40#/head per day):

If good stand of alfalfa and fertilized well = 2/3 of an acre / pair
If fair stand and not fertilized = 1-1.25 acres / pair
