Coles County, Illinois | My experience with serial com problems when you get no communication is that 99% of the time there's a mismatch of transmit vrs receive lines. Typically if the gender of the two devices are the same then the lines need to be crossed so that receive on one device is connected to transmit on the other device. Compounding the problem is that many of these devices run 2 ports thru a single db9 connector. Standard ports are pin2 for receive, pin 3 for transmit. If they're both standard ports then to talk they'd need the wires crossed in the cable so that pin 2 is connected to pin 3. | |
