I have had 2 machines that behaved that way. 1 was a new Claas chopper, the other was my JD 2755 with about 6000 hours.
Both times it was the seal on the piston of the steering ram.
Not saying that's your problem, but it's a place to look. My machines needed constant correcting, but more one way than the other.
