West Tennessee | Our 9610 combine is getting long in the tooth at 4,000+ engine hours. On the road we have to correct the steering constantly (it gets tiresome driving it on the road and we do that a lot) and sometimes in the field the steering "hesitates", almost as if the power steering was cutting out. Any thoughts on what might cause these symptoms and how to diagnose?
PS. There is no abnormal tire wear and I'm pretty sure this isn't an alignment issue at all.....but I've been wrong before just don't think that's it. Personally I think it's in the steering box under the column but I don't really know why I even think that. No oil leakage from that box. Once upon a time it seeped a little and we tightened the bolts on the cover and it quit. | |
