Mine was doing that at start of last fall, was ready to throw the whole thing away. Called video systems by Jim and he helped me trouble shoot it. Turned out monitor was bad, was able to use old cameras and wiring with 1 of his new monitors.
Worked perfect all fall.

I have had the same problem/solution in the past. I do know the older cab-cams came with a lighter plug, now , my latest ones have to be hard wired into a circuit or direct to battery post. I think the lighter did not always have a good ground.
