central Illinois | saw a post pertaining to flow meters below, was curious has anyone used a ultrasonic flow meter to any effect?
both the well driller and irrigation staff say they aren't accurate. the description of where ultra sonic meters are used - oil fields, refineries, industrial applications and are used for BILLING purposes, tells me someone has this figured out. potentially those set ups are long clean pipe runs that have no disturbances or are substances more "readable" than water?
I trust my irrigation folks, and yet they are pretty old school and I have had to push them into some of the newer items that could bring us benefit.
just curious if anyone had an experience.
a ultra sonic meter is 3-8k (used to new), but is easily portable, and could do all the pivots in one swoop. | |
