No! One screw up and it's all over for the year. Would take me 2-years of training to trust anybody whether mixing or spraying on a large scale. Takes a lot of "learned judgement" in my book that can't be taught with pointing a finger.
Where did you go to get your two years of training before spraying your own crops?
I'd let my wife run the sprayer. She wouldn't want to, so it probably won't happen, but spraying really isn't that hard. Its actually pretty easy with gps autosteer and section control. Batch mixing isn't that hard either. My wife can follow a recipe in the kitchen just right, and I don't see how batching chemicals is really that much different.
So I guess maybe my advice would be, if your wife is a terrible cook, you should probably keep her away from the sprayer.
I'm guessing if she does the books and runs sprayer, you will find that somehow you're able to afford a pretty nice sprayer.
