Is there anything to look for in buying a used display and receiver?

Hi miz, I think the setup you are looking at us perfect to get you started the only thing I would say is really thinking about paying the little extra and getting a SF 3000 rxer as some some ITCs are agowin there age and are/will have signal acquisition issues as time goes on. Plus the 3000 is a great receiver to build on in the future ie rtk. Etc. As for what to look for in a 2600 display you need to make sure the touchscreen works correct and will accept calibrations still.

Also another consider would be to keep an eye out for a Reman display (remanufactured) essentially displays that fail we send back to john Deere and they send us back a remanufactured on which has been gutted and rechecked over much like a rebuilt engine so remans tend to extend the usable life people get

Hope this helps an let us know how you get along
