Hello,

Planting with the Case 1240 planter, soybeans, this summer: I had the chain of the 'displacement seed drive' motor (because it was too loose) flip off of the sprocket. Six rows didn't plant any soybeans, in two separate instances, for 122' and 190'. I didn't have the right tools to get the chain idle roller tight enough, thus the chain came off the second time.

I stopped the second the monitor told me that something was plugged, or blocked, or something. Can't remember exactly what the warning was, but I stopped immediately.

Here is my question(s): Is there a setting to warn me sooner??? Why was I allowed to drive over 100' before it warned me that it wasn't planting???

I would like to not have this happen again. Yes, checking those chains in on my inspection list... I should have checked them before I went to the field.

Is there something I can do with the monitor or something to warn me sooner????

Thanks for any help.

Dave
