Subject: How is sweet corn different than field corn $$

Frytown, Iowa
Inputs? I guess the seed is more expensive... If the normal population of field corn is 32k what would you plant on sweet corn? 25,000?

Local store has them for .40 an ear

Can you get 24k good ears off 25k pop?

24,000x .40 is 9,600/ac

Say I want to get rich, if I plant 40 acres I would get $384,000!!! Just kidding

What do you use for weed control on non rup corn? Is insecticide a must?

How are the inputs different than field corn? More fert? More chemical passes?

What is your local price for sweet corn? Thanks
