Subject: RE: Farming the Nebraska sandhills

Missouri

I used to pull a few head of hand picked cattle from a few different sand hill ranches.  They were some of the more interesting operations I've ever been on and the operators often matched the environment... very different, fragile, and borderline insane.  Took a few buddies out on a couple of the trips and every single one of them couldn't believe the ground conditions and terrain when they stepped out of the truck.  That area is a whole different ball game when compared to anything else I've seen.

Dad always said the calves must have thought they had "died and gone to heaven" when they hit our small green hills.
