western iowa,by Denison | or perhaps really think this over-is there ways you can streamline your current operation-I use to have a young guy for 13 years,if they are good enough they well go on there own-which is what you would hope for
and when things are tight there was a lot of years my hired guy made more then myself,it's a catch 22
maybe a guy doesn't need 2300 acres or 1200 cattle
I guess after farming hard for 30+ years=I wonder why?
realize a hired man fulltime also is going to make you more fulltime
lots of ways to become more stream lined-maybe change some of your work habbits to be more efficient
I think it was roo that said he farmed 3500 acres by himself-and also feeds cattle
I have a friend that use to feed 5,000 head by himself for a long time
we have a couple neighbors that farm 5,000 acres with only 2 guys
it's just amazing what some people get done everyday by thereselves! | |
