Subject: RE: Any "long-life" rotary mower blades?

central - east central Minnesota -

This season, the Township ordered 2 sets of blades for its ditch mower - It seems they are lasting considerable longer then the last set from last season or season's before. I made the comment about softness of the old blades - even hitting the shoulders/ground.

On my brush wolf skidsteer mower, they seem to round off, dull and bend pretty easily - but, it also seem to cut into the dirt field edges and find rocks that magically grew on field edges and in the under brush also.

Diamond mowers does offer blades for Alamo cutters (Alamo makes the majority of the cutters out there, in one brand name or another).

As pointed out, keep the blades out of the ground, gopher, ant, prairie dog mounds, rocks and trees extends the lift of blades considerable - regardless of the blades hardness.
