SE Nebraska
My wife and I stayed in a holiday inn express in downtown Cleveland. It was a nice place built in an old bank building. We walked to the R&R hall of fame. It is probably 8 blocks N of the hotel. There are a lot of nice although fairly expensive restaurants in that downtown area. You could easily walk to the hall of fame and to the stadium from any hotel in the down town area. We did get approached by a couple of pan handlers but we were never in fear and never saw any gang activity. There is a lot of really neat architecture in that area.

They have free trolleys that run in the down town area as well as buses and trains. The hotel was 4 blocks from the tower city train station it's kind of a central hub for their metro lines. We took the train to and from the airport. As you get further west the neighborhoods get a little rougher.

If you do stay at the holiday inn make sure you check out the bank that is attached to the hotel. There are columns and architecture in the bank building that will amaze you.

The hotel has a free hot breakfast and a managers special each night that has appetizer like food.
