Subject: RE: Question on updated, lower 9 tooth cornhead sprocket

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

I already purchased a spare of each sprocket, one 9 tooth, and one 6 tooth.

Now, I put one new sprocket, on new plow share bolt(longer) and compared it , "center of tooth" distance from strap VERSES the old setup (sealed brg style) and the newer 9 tooth sits too low=too close to strap. I plan on added a flat washer to increase that height to match old tooth clearance.

Now, it makes me wonder about your setup, because I could see, with a tighter clearance that even small debris could jam-up and sideload that 9 tooth, plus a 9 tooth has a big diameter and probably has more leverage on that bearing, IF something did cause excessive loading (just my opinion)

I probably should take some photos.
