Soutwest Ks. | For their time, they were a real good cart. Moving forward just a few years and people say they are too slow for unload time compared to most of the newer carts. I ran a 840 for a number of years and had good luck. One of the things to be very careful about with the row crop 1040 is the high center of gravity. I have seen several of my neighbors dump them on the side on flat terrain just turning too fast. One other thing I would highly suggest is checking to see if all the zerks take grease on the walking tandems. If those pins are frozen you will be looking at some major coin to repair. There is a terrific amount of zerks to maintain on that kart, especially on the tandems and if they are not done almost everyday you will start having issues. I have another neighbor that purchased a used 1040 with the tandems frozen and I know they have put all the weight of the kart on one wheel trying to loosen up the tandem to no avail. |
