Seaforth, Ontario | A few people have asked how we have our sprayer set up for spraying fungicide at tassel. We have it set up cheap, and in a way in which we can still float it, and change between multiple crops in a day. No lift kits or fancy guards. This is nothing fancy but works good for us. Here are some pics. We just run a belly tarp all the way across bottom held up by bungee cords that we can easily dump when full of tassels. Also have thick gauge tarp for wraps around hyd hoses. Got fitted tarps made for around the wheel suspension where the paint always rubs off the machine. Run an air hose up from the tank to blow rads out when filling. Also have hub covers and brackets made up to stiffen air bags up, this gains us some height but more importantly stiffens the ride up so you steer a lot straighter, more like a tractor less like a boat. The front brush guard is just a 10min jobber, tried many different things but this works good to direct corn away from hood and stops the rub marks on hood, we can also still use our front fills like this. This setup works good for us, minimal crop damage and machine wear.
