western iowa,by Denison | wow Jake-it's a good thing you take a break and enjoy ag-talk
I have winter wheat in the bin that I can sell for $6 bushel-it is dirty and I just used a fertilizer cart to spread, and then harrowed it in-a lite discing would work better-I like to seed after Oct 15th-wheat seems to always grow just like rye but doesn't get as tall,no weeds though and I haul manure also-
if your going to grow some for seed just use your poorest 40 acres and leave it fallow next summer-that will give you time to haul manure on that piece after July-
not enough time today as putting tin on cattle barn-I will check back late tonite and try to explain what has worked for me-I have done the wheat and rye for 20 years | |
