| I drove south on the west side last May and the east side the year before. The rock bluffs on the east side looking south reminded me of pictures of castles along the Rhine River when first viewed at a mile or two distance. Both sides are definitely nice drives. East bank I started at Prescott and went to La Crosse. West bank I started at Hastings and went to Winona, then west on US14 to Rochester. The road leaving the river bottom is picturesque too, probably takes 20 miles to get to the prairie level.
