Clicker, it's about the money left over after you sell the calf. Not total dollars spent when you add your portion of the value added to a product. Only $50 dollars difference in a soo called bad calf vs. a good calf. One of the real big reasons for guys buying light calves is the hit two grazing cycles before they hit a feed yard. Lot cheaper cost of gain. As a cow calf man more hard dollars in your pocket on those deals. Plus your not a bad manager. The climate and area you live in dictate how you run your operation. Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Calfornia are totally different than the corn belt.

I personally know of some operations that do this they are on top of their game.
