Subject: 2,4-D on beans

Northern New York
I had a small field that was in beans last year that was too wet to plant this spring so I left it fallow with the intention of doing a summer seeding. I sprayed it about a month ago with a qt of rup and 1/2 pt 2,4-D to clean up the weeds before tilling. Much to my surprise the volunteer beans (which were 8"-12" tall) survived and look totally unfazed. Anyone else have beans survive a 2,4-D application? I thought it would fry them.
